Sedona Seminar What is Real?, Juni 2007
Demnach sieht man keine Veränderung, sondern Emergenz. [...]
On Spiritual Will
- The Spiritual Will is not like the ego's understanding of will as `will power', which means emotional force with clenched teeth of exertion and increased emotionality. The ego-driven will takes energy and is taking. It could actually be understood as a form of aggression. In contrast, invoking the Spiritual Will is like opening floodgates and then standing back. The ego/will contextualizes events in terms of cause and effect in which the personal self-will claims credit or blame because it sees itself as a causal agent. In contrast, the Spiritual Will is not personal but is a qualty of consciousness that changes context by surrender to an invitation to the power of the Self. The Spiritual Will calibrates at 850, and the personal will calibrates at only the person's current level of consciousness. Devotional Nonduality, Kapitel "Orientation"
- The Spiritual Will, invited by complete surrender, is thus capable of performing the seeming 'miraculous', whereas the personal will, paradoxically, often automatically triggers resistances, as anyone know who has tried personal 'will power' to overcome even minor habits. Devotional Nonduality, Kapitel "Orientation"
- Surrender of the personal will to the Will (Wisdom) of God (or Providence, Higher Power) signifies relinquishment of control. One can expect the ego to resist doing so, and it invents excuses, counterargument, and multiple fears in order to maintain illusory control. The ego's positions are reinforced by pride as well as desire for specific results. Thus, to the ego to step back and invite the intervention of Divinity seems like a loss, whereas, to the Spirit, it is definitely a win. Devotional Nonduality, Kapitel "Orientation"
- Another limitation of the personal will is that it has no knowledge of karmic propensities or propitious timing, nor does it have the wisdom (omnipotence) to comprehend beneficial sequence. The Self orchestrates with an inner knowingness of capacity. For instance, to try to face a certain conflict prematurely may be unsuccessful, whereas it could have been successful after a few other layers of the conflict had been resolved. Devotional Nonduality, Kapitel "Orientation"
Intentional declarations by Hawkins
- The purpose and intent of my life is to be a servant of thee, Oh Lord; to Know God, and to become one with Him in a state of enlightenment. Sedona Seminar 'What is Real?, Juni 2007
- Devotion to truth. Willingness to surrender everything as it arises. This has been a statistical rarity. My intention is that this should not be a rarity. […]
It's amazing that as much truth as we have survived we become united by commonality of intention. When we have the same intention, we are brothers already. Sedona Seminar Emotions and Sensations, 17. April 2004
- What you hold in mind tends to manifest.
- The effect of intention depends on the consciousness level. […] Choice is your intention, which is a way of saying where you are in the field. The power of intention is an effect of the field.
- There’s no will but God’s. You can say, there’s no will worthy of allegiance but God’s will. It means to serve Divinity. Personal will is really a definition. It's intention. What's behind intention? Desire, to feed the ego. To see "my” will is applying the personal. The power of manifestation is possible only by the intention of the will of God. You have no power like the will of God, but the person takes personal credit. Sedona Seminar Alignment, bereit gestellt von Consciousnessproject.org, 16. April 2005
- Spiritual intention attracts higher energy fields which are experienced as grace. The Eye of the I, S. 246
- Gina Mazza Hillier: You say "nothing is in the process of becoming; it already has its own identity, complete and perfect." Should we forget this notion of "becoming"?
David Hawkins: Becoming is the process whereby potentiality becomes actuality when the conditions are appropriate. One condition that comes up is intention. Potentiality doesn't become an actuality until you add the ingredient of intention. The minute you add intention, that potentiality blossoms forth as an actuality. All it was waiting for is your Okay. Interview mit David R. Hawkins, Gina Mazza Hillier, Magazin Holistic Networker, 13. August 2005
- At all times, behind the thought screen, there is a silent, invisible, thought-free space of joy. This is an option that is always available, but to be experienced, it has to be chosen above all other tempting options. The Eye of the I, S. 48
- There is no inner 'thinker' behind thoughts, no 'doer' behind actions, no 'seeker' of enlightenment. Seeking occurs on its own when the time is right, and it emerges as a focus of attention. All aspects and qualities of consciousness are self-actuating and energize each other under the general direction of the will. The Eye of the I, S. 132
- The only space from which to address mind is from that quality called will [...] by focusing on the sense of Self as emanating from the will [...] a workable 'place' from which to proceed and explore. The will is closer to the true Self than is ordinary mind. The Eye of the I, S. 132
- It is actually the spiritual will that determines destiny or karma. The will is the seat of power of the self as it extends to mind and, as such, is the region of direct contact with the Holy Spirit. At the level of will, form, and formlessness 'meet'. Here the formless qualities of love, devotion, gratitude, humility, inspiration, and faith meet with the particulars of the mind with its forms of ideas, thoughts, memories, conflicts, and images. In the spiritual will, the goals which are valued or desired are now exposed to the formless spiritual qualities of love, forgiveness, and devotion. Through humility and the choice of peace out of love, one can release even the most cherished of negatives, such as revenge spite or hatred. Eye of the I, S. 135

- Un-manifested power is the energy of creation. Potentiality becomes actuality because of the Presence of God. Our Spiritual will brings potentiality into actuality. Seminar in Unity Church Houston, Texas, The Realization of the Presence of God, Samstag, 11. Oktober 2003
- The inspiration to evolve spiritually is already a manifestation of the presence of God within, and it's certainly indicative of good karma. Just to want to know truth, to evolve, to improve oneself, to become a better person, to fulfill one's potential – those are all inspirations. And the person doesn't make them up; they just come to them. It's like an innate desire to fulfill your potential.
That potential as one evolves it becomes more and more identified in spirituality – the capacity to love, to forgive, to appreciate, to see the beauty in all that exists, to live in peace and harmony instead of discord and strife.
And I'll tell you what happens. It becomes more important to succeed than to win. Anybody can win. It doesn't mean anything. It's success.
Spiritual evolution is the willingness to give up games and seeming wins for a greater goal which is the evolution of your own consciousness. […] to give up selfishness because what is the ego except selfishness in all its desires. […]
The universe responds to the willingness to surrender that. As I said it's like an electrostatic field. You start praying to God for spiritual guidance and all and your life begins to change.
It unfolds automatically. […] The only requirement is to do whatever you do to the best of your capacity and leave the rest up to God. Interview beim US-Webradio-Sender Beyond the Ordinary, 10. Februar 2004
- Everything happens spontaneously of its own as a consequence of potentiality emerging as actuality. So you don't see change. What you see ist emergence. [...] Phenomena come and go as potentiality becomes actuality [...] when local conditions are favorable. [...] With intention we can influence potentiality manifesting as actuality. The mere intention to progress in one’s level of consciousness, to become more and more spiritually evolved is already very powerful. [...] In respect to the power of intention, what about the consciousness level of the observer? Could be that some people‘s consciousness level is not sufficiently strong to very seriously effect the outcome. However other people’s consciousness level is very powerful and they could profoundly effect outcomes. Q&A Audio-Interview mit David Hawkins, Ellen Sutherland, Miracles Center, Sedona, USA, 10. November 2005
- You cannot make an apple fall to the ground. If you cut the stem, you didn't make the apple fall; gravity did. The ego will claim authorship of the apple falling, but it had nothing to do with it. The field did it. Intentionality sets the program, but it's the power of Divinity that allows the apple to drop from the tree, or the golf ball to fly when you hit it. Sedona Seminar Identification & Illusion, bereit gestellt von Consciousnessproject.org, 14. August 2004
- Intention is holding something in mind and then being devoted to it. Then, under the right karmic conditions, it tends to manifest. That's different from striving from the ego. Intention isn't trying; it's allowing. It's removing that which is not what you want to be. Sedona Seminar Emotions and Sensations, 17. April 2004
- All things come into manifestation by the intention of potentiality becoming actuality. Sedona Seminar Emotions and Sensations, 17. April 2004

- Spiritual work is effortless; it's a decision, a commitment, an intention. That intention then aligns you with whatever you need to be aligned with. You become that which you seek, because that which you seek is not different from that which you discover. It’s the ultimate yin posture. Sedona Seminar Thought and Ideation, bereit gestellt von Consciousnessproject.org, 28. Februar 2004
- Spiritual intention changes the brain's physiology – spiritually oriented people experience things differently than "ordinary” people. The change occurs in the prefrontal cortex, creating an "etheric brain."
[Calibrated as a fact: The etheric brain does not exist in individuals below 200 LoC.] The shift above LoC 200 speeds up karma. […] Rapid pathway bypasses the emotional centers of the brain. The majority of Homo sapiens do not have an etheric brain. The new species of individuals calibrating over 200 is "homo spiritus." Under 200, the left brain is dominant and individuals are more prone to disease, depression, addiction, and rage. Sedona Seminar Realization of the Self and the "I", 1. November 2003
Setting Intention [setting attention]
- My intention is to focus. By repeatedly doing this, intention will finally dominate because it is a higher field of consciousness. Attention set then dominates. People get addicted to upset. So your intention is that you are going to focus on that silent, still place, no matter what! And that takes priority over everything, including emotionality! […] Make a decision about how you are going to be! Sedona Satsang Q&A, 10. Januar 2007
- By intention, man symbolically sanctifies and commits both self and others, as well as places of worship. Because of intention, all styles of blessing and prayer calibrate over 500, and their collective effort can immeasurably impact the overall level of collective human consciousness.
