Wendeltreppe
Turmwendeltreppe, Caernarfon Castle, Wales, ~1300

⚠ Achtung Siehe Power vs. Truth (engl.) Januar 2013

Was einem Men-

Quotes by D. Hawkins

For it is by faith that we walk and not by sight. Letter by Paul the Apostle [Saul of Tarsus, Saint Paul] [LoC 745] (5-67 AD)
2 Corinthians 5, 7, Aramaic Bible in Plain English, 2010 (NT)

⚠ Caveat See Power vs. Truth, January 2013

  • Knowledge based on faith and true experience is calm. It invites rather than tries to convince. It attracts by virtue of
its intrinsic merit and the innate power of the truth itself. Source unknown

  • What we think of good or bad is merely subjective, what the universe "thinks" about it may be something entirely else. Never ask a question unless you are prepared for the answer; the facts may be quite different from what you currently believe. Power vs. Force. The Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior, S. 117, Hay House, February 2002

  • The blocks of skepticism in the hypothetical arguments are all delays to spiritual progress. Faith implies a volun-
tary suspension of disbelief which supports the humility that underlies all spiritual progress. Conviction occurs later
since truth is self-revealing, self-evident, and comes about as an effortless, self-fulfilling presentation.
The Eye of the I From Which Nothing is Hidden, S. 111, 2001

  • It takes faith to accept that the law of life, like the laws of indestructibility of energy or matter, guarantees its continu-
ance. Like matter and energy, life cannot be destroyed but can only change form. (This statement calibrates at LoC 1,000.) Reality, Spirituality and Modern Man, S. 283, 2008

  • Anytime you place your faith in the Highest, the Highest becomes available to you.
Sedona Seminar The Ego and The Self, 3 DVD set, 11. December 2004

  • Faith is an aspect of personality without which you wouldn’t live. Faith is really operative at the practical level which
has to do with expectation and expected realities, such as, your foot will land on the ground. Spiritual faith is some-
thing different – placing your faith in things unseen – trust – the capacity to trust. This comes as an inspiration to do
that. This increases the likelihood of the fulfillment of that. The likelihood of it is increased by your commitment and
intention that the response is going to be more probable in a certain direction than another. You are affecting proba-
bility by intention. The modern mind would like to have it backed up. Faith for its own sake is already a certain sacred-
ness. You are not looking for a payoff. You do it for its own sake and not for some gain. Thereby you fulfill your own
potential to evolve. Sedona Seminar Perception vs. Essence, 3 DVD set, 22. April 2006

  • When you ask for something in faith, you're not asking for an answer – you are asking for God's will – a Presence.
Sedona Satsang Q&A, Sedona Creative Life Center, 2 CD set, 12. July 2006

  • Some people need to learn how to think more. Others need to learn how to stop thinking! It is because of devotion
that the true significance of the learning is revealed. Reason in and of itself does not bring comprehension. You have to bring devotion and faith to it. Then the meaning of it – other than intellectual meaning – you become
aware of it. So the perfect combination is reason plus faith. That was the teaching of Saint Thomas Aquinas
[LoC 460]; he pointed out the relationship is between faith and reason. Meaning is revealed by faith. Faith reveals
the true significance of the meaning.

Sedona Satsang Q&A, Sedona Creative Life Center, 2 CD set, 13. September 2006

  • The pathway of the mind versus the pathway of the heart have to do with preference. Either way is OK, it is your choice. The way of the mind is spiritual learning, you have to add devotion. Reason and Faith is a good combina-
    tion.
You can merge the two pathways.
Sedona Satsang Q&A, Sedona Creative Life Center, 2 CD set, 13. September 2006

  • Question: Holding something in mind and intention can increase the likelihood of it happening? The faith and belief
of the individual can have something to do with increasing likelihoods?
    Answer: Yes, that is true.
Question: Would that be one of the local conditions?
Answer: Yes. Sedona Seminar God vs. Science. Limits of the Mind, 3 DVD set, 17. February 2007

Empfehlungen

Man

    Glaube stehet still erhoben

Twelve considerations of faith

  1. Faith invites us to dare, to dream, to let go and fly.
  2. Faith accepts life cycles that create, sustain, and destroy.
  3. Faith lays down the burden of being in control of everything.
  4. Faith calls forth the Light from the darkness of self and others.
  5. Faith is the declaration of belief in essence, not appearances.
  6. Faith knows. Hope, a worthy relative, is merely optimistic.
  7. Faith requires trust in inner guidance and powers not seen.
  8. Faith accepts timing, affirming the unfolding universe.
  9. Faith accepts all people and circumstances met on the path.
  10. Faith plants seeds without asking for the harvest.
  11. Faith trusts the necessity for purification, even when it is painful.
  12. Faith will dive into the deepest oceans to gather the pearls.
Gloria Karpinski, US American spiritual teacher, holistic counselor, author, Barefoot on Holy Ground. Twelve Lessons in Spiritual Craftsmanship, S. 248-249, Wellspring/Ballantine, 1st edition 1. Mai 2001

  • Faith may be characterized as an integral, centering process underlying the formation of beliefs, values and mea-
    nings that
    1. gives coherence and direction to persons’ lives,
    2. links them in shared trusts and loyalties with others,
    3. grounds their personal stances and communal loyalties in the sense of relatedness to a larger frame of refe-
      rence, and
    4. enables them to face and deal with the limit conditions of human life, relying upon that which has the quality
of ultimacy in their lives. [...]

  • Faith is not supposed to bring us easy certainty but deeper reflection, not to bring us triumphalism but rather humility, not to bring us cynicism about the world but hope that in fact even the big things can in fact and have been changed. The Golden Rule

  • Jesus told us to love thy neighbor as thyself.
The Torah commands, that which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow.
In Islam, there is the hadith that reads, none of you truly believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself.
The same is true for Buddhists and Hindus, for followers of Confucius and for Humanists.
It is, of course, The Golden Rule, the call to love one another, to understand one another, to treat with dignity and respect those with whom we share a brief moment on this Earth. It is an ancient rule, a simple rule, but also perhaps
the most challenging, for it asks each of us to take some measure of responsibility for the well-being of people we
may not know or worship with or agree with on every issue or any issue. Sometimes it asks us to reconcile with bit-
ter enemies or resolve ancient hatreds. And that requires a living, breathing, active faith.
Barack Obama (*1961) 44th US president, National Prayer Breakfast, Washington DC, 5. February 2009

  • The believers in miracles accept them (rightly or wrongly) because they have evidence for them. The disbelievers in miracles deny them (rightly or wrongly) because they have a doctrine against them.
Gilbert Keith Chesterton (1874-1936) English philosopher, lay theologian, literary and art critic, writer, Orthodoxy, chapter 9 "Authority and the Adventurer", 1908

  • Faith is the only known cure for fear. Lena Sadler, M.D. (1875-1939) US American physician, surgeon, obstetrician, promoter
of women's health issues, cited in: AZ Quotes

  • Faith is believing when it is beyond the power of reason to believe. Voltaire [François-Marie Arouet] [LoC 340] (1694-1778) French philosopher of the Age of Enlightenment, social critic, proponent of the French Revolution, advocate of civil liberties, freedom of religion, free trade, deist, writer, Questions sur l'Encyclopèdie, Cramer, Genève, 1770-1772; cited in: AZ Quotes

Ordinary faith ⇔ spiritual faith

Ordinary·faith(as in expectation and consensual realities) is needed to get along in life
at the practical level.
Spiritual·faithholds the energy of sacredness. It is based on inspiration. It trusts and commits in things unseen. By spiritual intention one evolves one's own potential and increases the probability of the fulfillment of the 'expected' outcome.

Blind faith ⇔ vigilance

  • And Jesus answered him,
➤ The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
➤ And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with
    ➤➤ all thy heart,
➤➤ and with all thy soul,
➤➤ and with all thy mind,
➤➤ and with all thy strength:
this is the first commandment. Mark 12, 29-30 (NT)

  • Jesus: Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 1 Thessalonians 5, 21 (NT)
  • Jesus: Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Matthew 10, 16 (NT)
  • For God is not [the author] of confusion. 1 Corinthians 14, 33 (NT)

Jesus Christ did not venture for people to believe everything they are being told on "blind faith."
The FIRST COMMANDMENT encourages to believe "with all thy mind."
Thinking is a means of differentiation and protecting true teachings from corruption.

Faith ⇔ perceptibility
