Der Körper, den ich zuvor als "meinen" angesehen hatte, heilte sich selbst von einer Anzahl verschiedener Krankheiten. Erstaunlicherweise brauchte ich keine Brille mehr zu tragen. Meine Sehbehinderung hatte zuvor seit dem Alter von zwölf Jahren trifokale Gläser erfordert. Die Fähigkeit, ohne Brille zu sehen und das sogar in die Ferne, kam ganz plötz-
lich ohne Vorwarnung und war eine angenehme Überraschung. Als dies eintrat, ging es mit der Erkenntnis einher, dass die Fähigkeiten der Sinne eine Funktion des Bewusstseins selbst und nicht des Körpers sind. Dann kam auch die Er-
innerung an die Erfahrung des "außerhalb des Körpers Seins" zurück. In diesem Zustand lag die Fähigkeit, im so ge-

Unterscheide zwischen:

einer Nahtoderfahrung (NTE) und einer Außerkörperlichen Erfahrung (AKE)

Sie [außerkörperliche und Nahtod-Erfahrungen] sind auf jeden Fall vollkommen verschieden. Man könnte sagen, dass das eine transzendent ist und das andere als paranormal eingestuft wird. Eine außerkörperliche Erfahrung kann zu jeder Zeit auftreten, sogar im Schlaf oder im Traum. Sie wird häufig durch körperliche Belastungen oder Krankheiten hervorgerufen, wie zum Beispiel durch einen Unfall oder eine Operation. Bei einer außerkörperlichen Erfahrung gibt es Ort, Position und Dauer. Ein fast unsichtbarer Energiekörper verlässt den physischen Körper und bewegt sich zu einem anderen Ort im Raum oder vielleicht sogar
in eine gewisse Entfernung. Sinnenhaftes Gewahrsein begleitet den Energiekörper, der dann nicht mehr mit dem physischen Körper verbunden ist und als getrennt erfahren wird. Das Gefühl von "Ich" wird ebenfalls mit dem Ener-
giekörper und nicht mehr mit dem physischen Körper verknüpft. Schließlich kehrt der Energiekörper in den physi-
schen Körper zurück, und das Leben geht weiter wie zuvor. Dieses Abenteuer ist wiederholbar und geschieht häufig
im Zusammenhang mit anderen Menschen. Die gemessene Bewusstseinsebene des Individuums verändert sich nicht wesentlich. Die Persönlichkeit ändert sich nicht. Die Erfahrung der Sinne, genau wie von irgendetwas anderem, ist eine Eigenschaft des Bewusstseins, die mit unserer Gegenwart als Energiekörper innerhalb des physischen Körpers zusammenhängt. Jeder, der einmal eine außerkör-
perliche Erfahrung hatte, erinnert sich daran, dass alle sinnlichen Fähigkeiten Funktionen dieses ätherischen Körpers waren, der mit Selbstbewusstsein und Selbstverständnis verbunden war. Sehen und Hören wirken fort, auch wenn der physische Körper schläft oder in einem unbewussten Zustand ist. Erfahrung des "Selbst" wandert aus dem Körper, zusammen mit dem Sinn für Aufenthaltsort oder Bewegung. In diesem Zustand ist die Ich-Erfahrung im Energiekörper anwesend, und der physische Körper wird ein "Es". Er wird dann als "ein Körper" gesehen, und nicht als "mein Kör-

A healthy pineal gland synthesizes DMT molecules.

Until relatively recently, the pineal gland was considered a vestigial organ lacking function, i.e., the brain’s appendix. Then scientists showed it produced melatonin, a hormone that profoundly affects us. The pineal gland converts the amino acid tryptophan into serotonin (a neurotransmitter) and, in turn, melatonin.
