• There are low planes (hells), intermediate planes (purgatory or limbo), and higher astral planes (celestial). These are all possible destinations of the soul or spiritual body or focus of consciousness. Eye of the I, Chapter 9, S. 129
• The soul has its own karmic 'buoyance'. We call its destination the 'inner (nonphysical) realms'. Consciousness is capable of the subjective experience of 'reality' at any level. • Throughout eons, consciousness has evolved as the 'soul'. It reincarnates in a successive series of lifetimes, physical or otherwise, which are recorded in the awareness level of consciousness as karma. The interaction of the karmic patterns with the totality of the universe is expressed as the details of an identified lifetime. Once the nonlinear Reality becomes manifest as existence, consciousness identifies with the form as the locus of 'I' of a seemingly separate individual. This self claims authorship and believes it is the source of its own existence. As the consciousness of the soul evolves, it eventually seeks to identify and reunite with its true source. • Question: Ramesh Balsekar, India, states that there is no individual soul.
  Answer: This is a subtle question. If that were true, then how is it that people are born with different levels of consciousness? Karmic merit is individual. If not, then we don’t need the teachings of Jesus and Buddha. I don’t agree with Balsekar. Sedona Seminar Spiritual Traps, 15. Oktober 2005

The Dark Night of the Soul

• Question: Do you have any advice regarding the dark night of the soul?
  Answer: You can expect that. You rise above your karma. You are entitled to bring up the next stack. It comes up and you think you are getting worse, but you now have the power to deal with that stack. Keep going through them and eventually it will clear up. It can seem like a lot at times! • The state of feeling abandoned by God and being hopeless results in a global feeling of depression and may include an alteration of the experience of time comparable to the experiencial lower levels of Hell as described by Dante: "Abandon hope all ye who enter here". This state may be a transitory phase as a consequence of intense spiritual work, especially in a devotee who throws all caution to the wind and explores the deepest levels of consciousness, at which depth the devotee intuitively senses that it is necessary to relinguish the ego and remove all doubt.
